Mr. Kazuyuki Iwata

Mr. Iwata graduated from the Faculty of Engineering, Meiji University in 1986 and joined Honda Motor Co., Ltd. After being in charge of the development of the Honda riding simulator, he moved to Honda Technical Research Institute Co., Ltd. in 1993 and engaged in engine design, and was in charge of the development of NSX and the first i-VTEC. In 2005, he was transferred to electric power plant research and development, and after developing Fit EV, etc., he led the development of ultra-small EVs from 2012. In 2013, he was transferred to Honda Motor Co., Ltd. and was in charge of new business planning related to smart communities. In April 2016, he returned to Honda Technical Research Institute Co., Ltd. and became an executive officer. He proposed concepts such as Honda Mobile Power Pack and Honda eMaaS and led the development. Incumbent from April 2020.
