Dr Chen Xinwei
Deputy General Manager at Strides Frontier

Dr Chen Xinwei is a Deputy General Manager at Strides Frontier, the commercial business arm of SMRT, Singapore. He is a strong advocate for sustainability, innovation and lifelong learning. Currently, he is responsible for developing the electric-mobility-as-a-service business for Strides, which provides end-to-end solutions to decarbonise the mobility sector through digital and data. Previously, Dr Chen developed and catalysed national research programmes relating to sustainability and energy at the National Research Foundation, under the Prime Minister Office of Singapore and led research teams to drive innovation at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Dr Chen obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering in the National University of Singapore and did his post-doctorate study in Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He received several awards, including the World Future Foundation (WFF) PhD Prize in Environmental and Sustainability Research, A*STAR International Fellowship and Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award.
