Prof. Rachid Yazami is a world-renowned scientist in battery technology, best known for inventing the lithium–graphite anode in the 1980s, a key component in nearly all commercial lithium-ion batteries. He is the Founding Director and CTO of KVI Holdings in Singapore, which develops disruptive technologies for battery management, safety, and life enhancement across applications from mobile devices to electric vehicles and large-scale storage.
He has received many prestigious awards, including the Draper Prize from National Academy of Engineering, USA, the VinFuture Prize Laureates, the Royal Wissam of Intellectual Competency from HM the King of Morocco, and the Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, France , among others.
